Special Education Law and special Needs Planning

Overview:

After nearly half a century, our working goal continues to be the securing of appropriate special education for students, which typically consists of some combination of educational supports, accommodations and classes, speech/language therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and mental health services.

We work with families and involved professionals to identify what the children need to be successful in school, and then advocate for the school systems either to provide these services in the public school setting or to fund the services from private providers.

We are actively involved in all aspects of the special education process from initial identification, through IEP meetings, due process appeal or mediation, and, when necessary, federal court litigation. We also assist families with long-term financial planning for their children with special needs through estate planning.

Our goal is to improve the quality of life for the children with whom we work and their prospects for a productive and well-balanced future, with a dual focus on their educational rights as well as special needs estate planning.

Our own Matthew Bogin has been honored by Super Lawyers for his work related to special needs trust, estate planning, and guardianship.
